I really like an organic cider (can't remember who makes it) called Katy. It's 7%, very tasty but it's such a small bottle you only get 2 glasses out of it. I always buy 2 or 3 for that reason!

Thatcher's single varieties. The Cox's and the Katy's are lovely; the Spartans, too, when I can get hold of it.
Otherwise, it'll have to be that weird stuff you find sold in farm shops, made from apples on site! That's always fun to drink, as long as you don't have to move the next day. Or the day after that.

At the moment I really love Frome Valley Apple Sweet Cider from Herefordshire. I have a sweet tooth so it's lovely for me, not as sickly sweet as Woodpecker. Really good, £1.59 a bottle from Tesco.

home made
1 - get a load of apples, windfalls will do.
2 - dont wash them
3 - cut them up and crush them
4 - put the bits and juice into a sterislised container
5 - let it ferment at 20 degrees
6 - when it stops bubbling put it in sterilised beer bottles, add a tsp sugar
7 - seal the bottle and store for 6 months
Great summer drink for you in 2007, and its virtually free.
