Men sometimes can't let go of the past and as a result this interferes with the future. Because of previous bad experiences he's holding back, not because he doesn't feel the same way about you but because he's scared of being hurt again. I think that women are far more open when it comes to expressing their feelings. The old saying "time is a great healer" is certainly true, and hopefully in your relationship as time passes so will his insecurities thus enabling him to be open about his feelings for you. Hope this helps

Well, to say that u are rushing wud not be right. Perhaps the guy's past experiences are still holding tight. In my view, u should frequently remind him that u love him, but should also give him enough space to feel free of his past.

Not after 9 months I don't think so.
Men generally are afraid of commitment - it means they don't ever get to sleep with another woman. Though some do anyway regardless of whether they're committed or not.

My now ex partner didn't want to commit to me so I left him. I can only rely on myself. I don't need someone to mess me around.

Sounds like he's had his heart broken in the past. The problem is that men, although they'll vehemently deny it, are much more sensitive than women. The problem with women being that they have no heart.
