Both the Christian and Islamic religions are derived from Judaism. Islam and Judaism show many of the same aspects of culture, including customs. For instance not eating pork, wearing those prayer hats, etc.
That they have the same prophets and Holy writings (to an extent, Old Testament comes from the Torah and so does most of the Qu'ran ) shows this fact further.

Belief in a mythical invisible superbeing. They have similarities because they come from the same basic area of the world. All religions borrow heavily from each other. Judaism, Christianity, and Islam are no exceptions. There is much evidence that the three also borrowed from many earlier superstitions, myths, and earlier religoins. For example, there are many parallels between Christianity and Mithraism, and it borrows heavily from Pagan traditions. Although Judaism was relatively unique in offering the concept of a single monolithic god, Christianity later borrowed from the Persians the idea of a dualistic pantheon of one good god and one evil god. Although Judaism had the concept of evil and temptation and such, it never really embodied that in a diety like Christianity did. Islam, of course, borrowed much from both Christianity and Judaism, making the claim that it was a correction of the former.

Both the Jewish and Islamic religions claim a common ansestry, along the lines of:
There were once two brothers. Once went off and sired the Arabic tribes, the other the Hebrews.
There are, not suprisingly, several areas of commonality. Since the early Christian beliefs were formed by its founding members, who were Jews.......

The simplest answer is that they are the only religions to believe that there is only one god and that he is male. All the rest have multiple gods with many females represented.
