Middle school is 6,7,8 grades. Junior High is 7,8 grades although in a few areas it also includes 9th grade. Junior college is after high school for those that don't go to college or university or to transfer to a college or university if maybe grades weren't the best. Some high school students take classes at the local junior colleges as well.

Middle school and junior high are used interchangably for grades 7-9. So...elementary is grades kindergarten-6, middle is 7-9, and high is 9-12. Junior colleges are 2-year colleges, offering some degrees, or a student can go there and then transfer to a 4 year college.
