Yes very much so. Co-Codamol contains codeine (Pain relief) and codeine is highly addictive. In the old days co-Codamol was prescribed readily as it relieved pain but over time, became less popular because many people became totally addicted to codeine.

Should you be prescribed Co-Codamol, you should only take it for a short period then move on to codeine free pain killers.

My migraine doctor told me to come off them as apparently they can cause headaches. The theory goes that if you take too many then you get a headache if you don't take one as the body is so used to having co-codamol in the system that it wants more.

Apparently some people have withdrawal symptoms when they come off them, but with me it was just the usual headaches and a few weeks later the frequency of the headaches went down.

yes they can be very addictive because they are codeine and paracetamol, my friend used to take 2 a day just to stop pain in her arm and she became addicted to them, they made her constipated and when she tried to come off them she got mad side affects like sore heads, her leg got a nervous twitch and she couldn't sleep it took her about 2 months to get back to normal
