First of all, when a male cat gets snipped, it's called "neutering." The female gets spayed. They're two completely different procedures.
Don't worry about it. When a male cat is neutered, it's far less invasive than when a female is spayed. All the vets do is make a small incision in the testes, which is usually scabbed over and mostly healed by the time you pick him up the next day. Watch when you get him home, though. If small white stringy looking things start to show up around the area of his testicles, take him back to the vet to get those snipped off. This usually only happens if he licks at them incessantly, though.

I'm in the same boat, I have two 4 month old kittens (brother & sister) that will be off in about 6/8 weeks to be neutered and spayed. At the end of the day it's worth remembering that this is a totally routine procedure and the vet will have done it hundreds of times.
As everyone else has said make sure you follow the vets advice on aftercare and don't be afraid to ask questions if you aren't sure about anything.

It's really routine- I wouldn't worry, but do follow vet advice about watching for signs of infection and try not to let her worry the stitches. The cat will be fine.

she will be fine... i have hade many cats of both sexes and we worry more than they do, the only thing to watch out 4 is she may get plump in old age as all the enery used for sexual purposes is not being used and has to go somwher..in the long run it is the kind and responsible thing to do
