The ear feels itchy at times. the infection is said to be on the outside part of the ear and not inside. the doctor says it is a skin disease and not a ear infection. On consultation with an ent, i was given Cortison creme.

MIX SOME SPIRIT AND PEROXIDE 1:3 AND PUT IT IN UR EAR WHILE U BEND ON ONE SIDE. WAIT A LITTLE, U CAN START FEELING IT BUBBLE INSIDE UR EAR. IT'S NOT PAINFUL, IT CLEANS EVERYTHING AND IF THERE'S ANY MINOR INFECTION, IT HELPS. I HAD THAT PROBLEM. A SWIMMING COACH TOLD ME TO DO THAT. IT COULD BE FROM WATER STUCK IN UR EAR ACCIDENTLY WHILE BATHING, TAKING A SHOWER OR SWIMMING.

Cortison is a steroid, which is anti-inflammatory by nature. What is the cause of the 'skin disease'? is it a rash? is it localized to ur ear lobe or pinna? how did it start? (insect bites, when u were exposed to dust, etc) The cortison will bring down the rash/itch.
And Stella, the peroxide is used to soften the cerumen (or ear wax). Please do not advice if u are not a medical professional.
Yes, otomycosis (yeast infections within the ear) can cause severe itching but steroids are not given in this case. so it must be something else.

Well, my dog was just diagnosed with a yeast infection in his ears. It's caused by an allergy to something unknown. We were prescribed a dog cream. maybe that is it, an allergy.

my ears itch if i eat eggs cause i am allergic to them.
If they are cook well done, i am ok.
