i told my 4 yr old twins that the baby fairys needed them for their babies. We attached them to the washing line and in the morning the fairys had taken the dummys and left them a nice present each on the line ;)
Mine never wanted them again after that.
Good luck! I know how tough it can be x

Take her to the shop for some stars and a large piece of card, then write a letter to santa and put the dummy in, then post in letter box, then tell her every night she has no dummy she gets a star and the more stars she has the more santa will bring, works wonders, you can always reward for other things

What's wrong with her having a dummy at night? If she needs the comfort let her have it. Tie it to the pillow on a little elastic so she cannot use it during the day if that's a problem. I sucked my thumb till I was about 8 and am now quite well balanced adult (I think) thankfully no one offered to dispose of my thumb.
If you are worried about it she will 'read' your emotions and become stressed herself or worse use it as a weapon against you.
I bet if she sleeps over at someones house she will not use it! Just keep calm, she will grow out of it

what you do is this...
lose your temper with the dummy saying its dirty and old, then make a big show, of opening the window, making sure that she can see what your doing, then pretend to throw the dummy away.
there will be tears at first and some shock, but after that all clear, no more dummy because mummy threw it away and the birds have taken it.
of coarse you put it in the bin later.
this works because i've tried it.

We managed to get our daughter to stop using her dummy at night by negotiating a set time, which was her fourth birthday. She gave it up to the fairies! It wasn't nearly as traumatic as we thought it was going to be. Although I kept it in case of emergencies, she never asked for it again. Friends have done similar things, like giving the dummy to the teachers at preschool, or sending it away in an envelope to Father Christmas to give to a new baby etc. Whatever happens, you can guarantee your daughter won't be taking her dummy along to future sleepovers! Good luck with that.

I know how you feel i took my daughters dummy off her in April and it's been hard, she's doing well now she doesn't look for it at all now but still struggles to go to sleep without it, find a bed time patter that works for both of you and be strong she will do it eventually but it does take time just prepare yourself first

I threw away my son's dummy when he was 8 months old, because it's no good for his teeth.
He was crying for 3 days and stopped looking for his "golden" dummy. T think now it's too late. She is going to cry a lot and won't forget it easily

I'm not sure what a dummy is, unless you're referring to a mannequin, or a ventriloquist doll. If it's just a doll why not let her go to bed with it? If it's a pacifier, she's way too old for one, and you're just going to have to put up with the screaming and fits until she gets used to the idea of not having one. If I'm completely off the mark, then nevermind! LOL

Start telling her now that when "insert special day here" comes, she will be too old for her dummy.
Ie. When Christmas comes, you'll be too big for a dummy and we'll have to wrap them up and give them to Santa so he can give them to the babies that need them.
Ie. When your birthday comes, you'll be too old to use a dummy. We'll have to wrap them up so that Mommy and Daddy can give them to a baby that was just born that needs them.
I did this with my 4 year old and she actually stopped using it on her own before the "cut-off" date.
