........and i'd like to take it up again. I've wanted to for years but didn't have the spare time. I'm now in a position to do so. But am I too old? I'd like to compete.. I did the 100 & 200 previously, but always showed talent for the 800. What's the average age for a female athlete? I haven't put on any weight (i'm still in shape). I'm not sure how to choose a good club, as i'm in an area i'm not that familiar with (Cheshire). Any help would be appreciated.

A friend of mine has taken up running for the 1st time aged 56 ! I know she's not wanting to compete , but if she could do it , so can you . The local directory should have the number of your nearest clubs and they can see your potential . If you aren't familiar with the area it will also be a great way to make new friends, so I hope you run to it !

without wanting to be rude your probably too old to do it proffessionally but yes as an amateur you can still have fun, i cant help much on where other than sugesting you contact local sports grounds/stadiums to see if they run any groups, im lucky l live a 10 minute walk from gateshead stadium they have groups there that run not that this helps you in cheshire, but i think the generic term is harriers for a group of runners so see if there is a harriers group near you (i see several groups of harriers from different regions in the great north run)

Don't put yourself down - you're never too old - you must grab every opportunity that passes your way. Never say never, as life is too short. Look through Yell.com and find running clubs in your area and ask plenty of questions. I hope you find what you are looking for.

do you sense too previous? in worry-free words you could answer the question. undergo in recommendations an excellent variety of athletes dont ge there maximum proper effects until eventually eventually later in life even as they have years of prepare and practise behind them. pass for it, you'll under no circumstances understand until eventually you try.
