Well I personally like to drink the beer I make, however this takes time which you don't have! If you are inviting a mix crowd, most people tend to "tolerated" Sam Adams. This goes for the Bud drinkers to the dark beer drinkers. My friends and I try to buy Growlers at local Brewpubs of their own brew when we get together. Or Magic Hat, which is always a crowd pleaser. If strong is the only requirement then I would go with a Scotish Ale or barelywine. It depends on the group you have coming. Most commercial beers (like coors, bud, Sam Adams, Red Hook) are standard 4.5-6% ABV, but I know Molson XXX is 7.7%ABV, and some of my friends drink that when they want something "Cheap & Strong."
Good luck and have a great party... and be repsonsible!

I would go with a mild Pale Ale, or any kind of English Ale. But for a broader appeal go for a Pilsner of some kind, or a Kolsch style ale. Seirra Nevada make a great Pale Ale. New Belguim's Fat Tire is allways a crowd pleaser. For a more global beer, no one has ever turned down a Hienekin.

Extra cold Guinness, just thinking about it makes me want a pint. If you prefer lager then you cant go wrong with Stella, If you want cheap, then I like the french stubbies beers from Asda. Have a good party.

go for a micro-brew, those ones tend to taste less tinny than others. my husband and i really like sam adams. since i've moved to germany though we get local beer which is great! we even discovered another way to have beer - a radler. it's great for girls - about 3/4 beer and 1/4 lemonade, it tastes far better than it sounds.

aussies wld probably say victoria bitters, germans wld rank hieniken or a carlsberg, indians wld say a king fisher but if we see 1 common thing among all of them that is they all are light and all are lager beers not pilsners.(lager n pilsners r 2 most common ways of briewing n lager is most preffered one all over the world).so any good lager beer a light one u get a hand on is good and yeah it has to be chilled.

Coronas to keep it light.
If it is a sit down and chill type of party, then go with a darker - like Guiness or Newcastle.
