I have no problem with immigrants as long as they want to work, and not just get money off of the state. I do think there should be more regulations regarding who should be able to come into Britain, and stricter penalties for illegal immigrants.

Hi I am from the UK and personally don't have any problem with immigrants themselves. They are only trying to build a better life for themselves, which we would all do given the chance. I certainly wouldn't treat them any differently.I think the problem is that the British government lets far too many immigrants in who all need houses, healthcare and education, meaning resources are stretched. While it is true that many immigrants do jobs that British people wouldn't want to do, such as fruit picking, many professional people, such as nurses get angry that there is not enough jobs for them and Eastern Europeans get given a job straight away even though some cannot speak the language very well. So no, i don't have anything against immigrants themselves, but i do think the government should have tighter controls on how many come in.

I work with a lot of Romanians who have been here in UK for 3 years. I have no problem with anyone coming from any country as long as they work and pay taxes like anyone else! Most British people only have a problem with immigrants who only come to take our free health care and not actually work here! If you want to come and work here then you will be welcome

You guys are joining the EU next year, aren't you?
I'm South African, living with Hungarians and poles. The Hungarians have trouble finding work cause they dont speak English.
The Poles say that people are often nasty to them, accusing them of stealing jobs in UK (there are a million Poles in UK, so you can understand why)
Generally folks in the UK dont like ant foreigners and not East Europeans. But come anyways, the Brits are a sour bunch, so just dont pay attention to them.
