Simple things usually work best.
The tupperware was a good idea, especially if you take turns wearing it on your head (seriously, kids get a kick out of this!). Let him have a laundry basket, that will occupy some time, just make sure he doesn't get hurt (standing on it, or climbing in and out of it). My daughter likes the crayola color wonder coloring books. Also stacking blocks or stacking cups, and getting them really high and of course, knocking them down. Do something like laundry, and let him help. (putting it in, pushing a button on the machine) This sounds really boring, but my daughter was fascinated the other night when I started to do dishes, she went and got a chair from the kitchen table and brought it over and just stood there watching me! Sing songs and dance around (not just by yourselves, but with you holding him, too) also piggy back rides around the house. Hope some of these ideas help...

Do you know anyone else with a child about the same age? Maybe take turns "sharing" duties so he isn't alone and then you'd get a break when it's the other Mom's turn. Or make a big vat of popcorn, and punch and tell him you're going to have a movie "Party" (if you make anything a party, kids will think of it as fun) rent some Disney movies (or see if your library has any) then do a remake of his favorite show. You'd be surprised I think at how imaginative and grown up they can be when tasked with "grown up" assignments.

Wow, I LIKE the pudding fingerpaint! Here's the main thing: He'll never be two again, so just get down on the floor and enjoy who he is today. Make funny noises for him to imitate, build pyramids with paper cups to knock down, look for pictures of dogs in a magazine. Compete for the loudest pot and spoon drum solo. Touch everything in the room that's red. Point out what's big, what's little. Feel each others bellies while you laugh.

Hmmm... Well, I have seen that my sister uses several DVDs that just (literally) glue my little just 2 year old nephew to the TV. I believe that are called "Brainy Baby".
Although she always keeps an eye on him, she uses the DVDs to keep him steady and do something else. She pops in the DVD and the child just stops what ever he is doing and stares at the TV as if he were hypnotized. ... They can also watch it over and over. It is amazing, I have seen this. It works like a charm.
There is another line of DVDs called "Little Einstein" but for what she has told me the "Brainy Baby" work better.
Go ahead and buy one or two of those!

Learn some new songs and quick.
I have worked in pre-schools for More than ten years and my top three things are
1. singing songs over and over again especially songs with any kind of movments or gestures involved
2. Reading stories
3. Anything that gets them messy but doesn't stain
----shaving cream painting on colored paper (you can even mix a bit of food coloring)
---------corn starch mixed with a little water it's not a solid it's not a liquid hmmmmmm
------- baking his favorite cookies let him stir and help measure your kitchen maybe a little messy but you will have enjoyed some real special moments
Hope this was helpful
Have fun

Finger paint with pudding on a cookie sheet. He'll have a lot of fun and then he can eat it. It's also all washable, so clean-up is easy.
Read to him. Books are great.
Let him play by himself. All kids need that kind of time. My 3 year old daughter gets at least a half hour every day to play by herself, when we're home all day.
Let him go outside and play in the rain. He won't melt.

Ok, first of all Ignoring a 2 yr old will only make it worse. If you can, try getting him to play, color wiht him, finger paint, watch his favorite cartoon and ask question's. Anything that will keep him occupied. You may also want to check online at Nick.com for other thins you can do wiht him, or Noggin.com, which is for toddler's. Good lcuk, I hope you find something fun to do.
