Although I adore both of them, I have no clue as to what would make them happy on their birthday, I live in the UK and have no idea what the latest crazes are for little girls in this age group. Any ideas will be greatly appreciated.... I'm better at buying gifts for bigger girls!

They have these dolls out called BRATZ twins. Really cute and would be great for that age group.
If they have a DVD player some good movies they could both enjoy ( Strawberry Shortcake, Barbie, Disney Movies)

Why not get them a dress up chest? Buy a big box, then go to the usual shops for womens clothes and go nuts! but make sure that you get two of everything, maybe in different colours, so there are no fights! get something casual, something evening, something crazy, wigs, facepaints. Its really easy to keep it in budget as well, because the sizes dont matter too much, and the quality isnt important. Little girls love it, i got one for my 7yr old neice last year!

Barbie dolls if you want to create a negative self image for the rest of their lives.
Alternatively, I use to love Crayola as a kid. Prepare to hear screams of anguish from their parents about stained walls though.

Some cool books... I know that it sounds lame, but I can still remember vividly my favorite books as a child. Plus, they probably already have tons of toys and dolls!

Little girls love everything: Barbie Dolls, tea sets, baby dolls, crayons and color books, Disney videos, dress-up sets and little fake makeup kits...good luck! :)

how about u get them those useful game, like painting stuff, or those stuff that teaches little girls how to make necklaces and stuff.. go to a toys shop n ull find similar things!

if the weather is warm to hot there I would buy them bathing suits and a inflatible pool can never go wrong there!
