Thats quite and interesting theory which im sure will upset the jesus followers. Yet again geology and such subjects have a possible explination to the more myths in the bible. Fantastic!

It will take some time to read everything at that link, but it looks like a pretty in-depth bit of research. It would be nice if people actually read the whole thing before commenting on whether or not it could be true, but that might be asking too much, methinks.
I heard the other day that it is possible that Moses and his followers crossed the REED sea, to the south of the Red Sea, at a time when the water was low and the wind was blowing hard. Interesting, the things that come up.
Wasn't it Leonardo da Vinci who made boat shoes? You could walk on water with them. That must have been quite a sight.

im glad there are scientists interested in researching any phenomena otherwise hard to believe in the accounts of the bible.the article states "we leave it to others the ? of whether or not our research explains the biblical account" bless their hearts.
the bible begins with "in the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. now the earth was formless and void and empty , darkness was on the face of the deep and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters.(gen1:1,2)Jesus was God in the flesh, the Spirit that hovered over the waters could of course in the flesh, walk on it....and God said let there be light, and there was.and God seperated the light from the darkness, and he called the the light day and he called the darkness night, and there was evening and there was morning- the first day."(gen:3-5) this is the dawning of God, the dawning of time, the dawning of all creation.Jesus is the truth the light and the way.....where once there was darkness we have seen a great light. Dont know exactly what passages these are, but it says to me that Jesus is, as is said in revealations, the Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, God full circle,Father, Son and Holy Spirit, beginning of all good and end to all wrong. my thoughts anyway :)

I don't even know where to begin poking holes in that theory. Wouldn't the boat have run into it? How would He have gotten all the way from the short to the boat? Have you ever tried to walk on ice that *wasn't* floating around on water? You'd barely be able to stand, let alone walk and look like you're stable.
And so on......

1) I don't think it was winter then
2) Even if it was, why would there be an isolated patch
People are all out to try to prove that Jesus does not exist and that He did not perform miracles.
Truth is, He was and is and is to come and nothing can change that fact.
He is the first and last, the Alpha and Omega.
Amen.

Yes, in the desert he preached he walked on ice. Makes sense.
The most likely thing is that he didn't do it at all and people passed on the legend that he did.
"The study points to a rare combination of optimal water and atmospheric conditions for development of a unique, localized freezing phenomenon that Nof and his co-authors call "springs ice."
Too much imagination. This is why I never went to state university.

Here's some food for thought...if you read the story about Jesus walking on water, then how did Peter actually do the same thing for a few steps until he lost faith?
It's just a scientist who wants to disprove Jesus and his miracles. Do we really know for sure that this research is truly valid?

We don't know how it happened, the scriptures didn't say. Having command of all the natural elements, this could be the method He used to walk on the water. He may have used a different method.

Are you christian? what are you really putting into question, JESUS's ability to work miracle? or you beleive in all but the walking on water.
I am curious to know what they have to say of the part where i brought Lazard back from the dead or feeding more than 5000 people with 5 fish and 2 breads.
May the Lord enlighten you with faith. " HAPPY ARE THOSE WHO BELEIVE WITHOUT SEEING"
