i was a cross country and track runner for many years. now i am 26 and i have trouble working full days without my knees hurting. i did have problems with my IT bands on both knees, but now it feels like an additional, different pain along with the old pains. are there any supplements or pills i can take to relieve this pain without getting cortisone shots?

Go to the doctors / hospital, could be cartilage problems, it's not always as simple as you would think!
Hope all goes well! ;-)

Well, I am not a doctor, and I do not work in the medical field either. I have dislocated my left knee a few times and I have found that a product called deep heat helps. It does smell though. Also, I would go to a knee specialist and see what he or she offers as well.; I hope this helps

Joint pain or stiffness of the joint may be caused by overexertion, injuries, arthritis, muscle pain, bursitis and other diseases. Depending on the cause of the joint pain, joints on both sides of the body and small or large joints may be affected. Some types of joint pains can be completely cured but for other types of joint pain (like pain caused by osteoarthritis), treatment will only reduce the pain.
