You need to stop doing that (wearing the ponytail)...Brush it 100 strokes DEEP into the scalp and bring the brush down harshly the full length of your hair...EVERY NIGHT BEFORE YOU GO TO BED. BRUSH BRUSH BRUSH. and change your shampoos every week (just a different brand)...and use one that's from the top shelves...not the cheaper ones like Panteen and Herbal Essence. Use Joico, Paul Mitchell, Bed Head, etc.
Once you get used to having it down, you won't want it up --- not all the time anyway. My hair is below my shoulders all the time, and I shed like a DOG...but I shed less when I brush more...and I always use good shampoos and change it ever so often.
I go out (start out) with my hair down (& love the feeling of breezes blowing it over my face), but after awhile, it starts to bug the crap out of me, so I carry a big clip (my hair is super thick)...and put it up in back. Then, when I watch TV or read, I take it out bcz it hurts my head to have the wall push it into my head.
My recommendation: brush alot, use a good shampoo, & wear it down a lot.

I find using moisturizing hair products (shampoos, conditioners, etc.) will help to save your hair from the dryness and some breakage. Although there are many factors to why your hair is breaking and dry, it's best to stop all chemical processing like relaxers, perms, colors, etc. and get that hair strong enough to handle all of that. Also take a look at your diet & medications which could be causing the problem from the inside out. Do your treatments, get a good trim and keep that hair covered while in the heat of the sun. I know you will be just fine...

You need to STOP tying up your hair and let it loose. Try Aussie Deeep Hair Conditioner (in a white bottle with a purple cap). You leave it on your hair for 3 minutes, then rinse off. Use this three times a week and I can bet your hair wil be repaired in no time. But try styling it differently or cut it shorter so the hair will grow. Your hair grows faster when you cut it. I use that Aussie Conditioner and it's a miracle worker!! If that dosen't work, try Infusium Hair Repair (white bottle with blue cap). I hear that works wonders too!

One of the best homemade hair strengthening ingredient is Egg and Mayonnaise. If you mix these together and massage it through your hair from root to tip, then you wrap your hair in plastic wrap and leave it for an hour or under a hair dryer or steaming cap for 15mins this should do the trick. Try doing it once a week for 3/4 weeks, then you should see some improvement.

Good luck and hopefully your hair will grow back

give your hair a break from the pony tail. get a deep conditioning treatment and a haircut that adds body. you can keep your hair out of your face by pinning the front back. and try different hair styles that hide problem areas. buy quality hair care products that have great ingredients that grow fuller healthier hair. try alterna caviar shampoo and conditioner. alterna also has a life hair restore shampoo, conditioner, and scalp serum that stops hair loss but does not make your hair fall out when you stop using it. just remember it takes 6-8 weeks before you see any results from any treatment you try so don't give up!!!!

don't tie your hair so tight! i've done this before myself and it happens alot! Try using this hair fertilizer called "Organic Root Stimulator" Fertilizing temple balm or the you can by it in the small liquid bottle! use it everyday in the sam spot you want to grow back! It really works seriously! You have to use it everyday until it grows back! you can find it at most drug stores or beauty supply stores! I used it on the back and when my brother had ring worm and his hair fell out in the spot! it grew back within a month!

You have to not put your hair up anymore. If you do you need to not make your ponytail so tight.

you have to stop tying it so tight. Condition it well, maybe get it cut in longer layers to eliminate some of the problem areas.
