For a religion that teaches that individuals are made in the image of God - then takes away their ability to reason and make a thoughtful decision by saying, 'Seek God's will on the matter'.

Do you agree that this is a big problem with the religious right?

Religious types, of all religions, base their whole existence on faith, how can you argue with that. There is always a passage, that can be taken literally or taken as something to be interpreted, and when either is called into question, you can simply go the other route. Religion, in general, is the ultimate mindf*ck.

Why should it be a problem juz because we are suppose to seek God's will.

Remember, you can reason all you want with your human capabilities, but the fact remains that God's will is the BEST for you because He only wants THE BEST for you, wehther you like it or not whether you believe it or not.

Sure, man can reason, that comes with free will and that was what brought sin into the world remember?

We are not robots, we can think and feel and reason. But come on, do we know what is really the BEST for us? NO.

Only our Creator knows that.

Just like if your car broke down. Would you send it to a roadside hawker to fix? Or would you send it to the car service center of the manufacturer?

Go figure. The creator knows BEST.

Well, to ask you to "seek God's will" is a great thing. Its basically saying, "I have no idea, ask God yourself". Its a very humble statement.

On the other hand, those who say "this is God's will", now thats a whole load of baloney. God's willing according to whom? You? People who use that phrase should think about it carefully. They tend to make God look pretty small.

I disagree. No one takes away the ability to reason. You have a choice but you choose to abuse it. God doesn't want to control anyone. People who choose religion to maintain their focus on God. God's will is not hard but unbelieers make it hard on them selves and cause contempt and destruction!
