quick sand: i'm 40 years old, when i said "way too long" what i meant was first came the depression in my late teens, then came the migraines in my mid-twenties and the fibro has been a factor for about 8-10 years. I was diagnosed three years ago. I have a psychiatrist and a psychotherapist and a regular GP, but the GP hasn't been able to help me. I've run the gammut of anti-depressants, mood stablizers, anti-convulsants, pain meds, anxiety meds, muscle relaxers, exercises, biofeedback, accupuncture, many other alternative therapies, anxiety attacks, meltdowns, bad doctors, withdrawals from wrong meds, losing my job, which I loved, losing my man just a few months ago, and moving out of the house we lived in for six years, which almost destroyed me. now i live with my mom. i have, right now, probably the best mental health docs ever, but they can't help me with the pain. i don't think of myself as a victim, i just want to function and have a life. i need pain management for that

quick: but thanks for the well meaning and concern, i do appreciate that. you're a caring person, or you wouldn't have bothered with me in the first place.

tuna-san: thanks for the hugs and well wishes, that was nice of you.

have you tried meditation? get John Kabat Zin's book "Full Catastrope Living" written for & about people with chronic pain/ illness. there are centers around the country that teach this model of pain control/meditation/mindfulness.

there gets to be a point where all the meds in the world wont do squat & you have to be ok with that & just deal with where you are.
it sounds like you have tried it all, and that's good-
depression is often a cause of migraines & often a cause of fibromyalgia... it's a viscious cycle.

get the book & read it--- it wont hurt, you may learn something & perhaps you can find a clinic in your area.

Please don't be offended in my suggesting going to your local mental health clinic(hate that description), or local counceling center. I went a long time ago when I was so stressed out it was causing panic attacks.(external family members causing havok in my life-couple of in-laws) I went and got alot off my chest, wanted to see if I was right in stopping contact, if I had just reasons for being that upset. I found, by going, I did have just cause for feeling the way I did. I was put on a low dose of Paxil, and within one week could feel a sense of well being that I lost, back. I gradually tapered off the meds, and refuse to ever let anyone or anything get to me like that again. There are lots of choices besides suicide thats for sure. Please don't even consider that. There is a reason you are here, and you deserve to have happiness in your life. You should be able to "write" and save your stuff on your computer. Write stuff down that bothers, depresses, stresses, etc you. You will be surprised how relieving that is to get it out. Stress can Make You Sick!.... "but my problems are so bad, or worse than yours...." Everyone has a rough time in life from time to time. Can't imagine anyone who doesn't. But there are people with way worse problems that we may have, and gotta be thankful we aren't them. You may feel alone but you are not! So check some things out in your county to see what is availabe, you don't have to handle it all by yourself. Best of luck to you sincerely.
