I am not stating this for accusations - I want real discussion - no antisemitism
In the Talmud there is discussion of Yeshu - "A story about a man named Yeshu can be found in the Talmud. There is debate whether this Yeshu in the Talmud is the same Jesus who later became a Christian divinity.
According to the Talmud, Yeshu was the son of a Jewish woman named Miriam who was betrothed to a carpenter. "Betrothed" means she was legally married to him, but she was not yet living with him or having sexual relations with him. The story says that Miriam was either raped by or voluntarily slept with Pandeira, a Greek or Roman soldier. Miriam than gave birth to Yeshu, who was considered a "mamzer" (bastard), a product of an adulterous relationship. The Talmud describes Yeshu as a heretic who dabbled in sorcery and lead the people astray. Later, the Sanhedrin (the Jewish "Supreme Court") ordered Yeshu stoned to death and his dead body was hung from a tree until nightfall"

What do you think of this in the Talmud? There always seems to be debate over the crucifixion of Christ. A lot of Jews get very upset over the suggestion that they had anything to do with it. Most Jews say that the Romans crucified Christ.

BTW - I am a Christian. I posted this for discussion that in fact Christ is recorded in the Talmud and that he was crucified. I just wanted open discussion on the subject.

If your question is whether or not Yeshu was Jesus, my answer would be that it likely is/was. The similarities between this account and that found in the Gospels in the Christian Bible are hard to explain otherwise.
This description could be a Jewish reaction to Jesus' popularity. By setting it up to call Him a bastard, the hope would be that many people would think twice about following Him. Why else would the Talmud take the time to talk about someone who ended up being a "nobody" (since they claim that Jesus wasn't actually the Messiah)?

Well, I have heard this before. Of course, being Messianic Christian I do not believe it.
Jews do believe Jesus was a good man so I do not know where they get that from if this is the story they read.
But, if he was a good man, would a good man lie? He said, "I and my Father are one." He was speaking of Yahweh.
You can see why the Jews are not so anxious to believe He is the Son of G-d by this story.
They are blinded and have a veil over their eyes to the truth of it all...EVEN tho most Rabbi at the time of Christ ALSO accepted Him as the Messiah.
If you notice, the disciples worshiped in the Synagogue after the resurrection. They would not have been welcome IF others were unbelievers.
Jews were looking for someone to save them NOW!, not someone who came to seek and save them that were lost. That was not G-d's plan, theirs.
You know, no one else has ever fulfilled the requirements of the Messiah except Yeshua.
I welcome ANYone try to explain otherwise, it is as real as the nose on our face.

it does sound like it is the same yeshua (Jesus) in urdu they use the name Yeshu so it was likely the original but you should read the bible and then you will see the similaritys it would have been hard for the Jewsa to accept miriam was pregnant from God so easy to understand why some would have pressumed it was rape. I have looked into islam but not to much into juwdaism so your imput will be interesting

More rabbinical lies to defame Christ....
I am a Jewish believer by the way...
That is why I forsook the rabbis to follow the Lord...
At least God doesn't lie...Rabbis are scum.
Secondly, only the Torah and rest of the Tenakh are divinely inspired by the Ruach HaQodesh (the Holy Spirit) of Adonai.

the big difference is that Yeshu did not beat death by rising after the third day.

Mighty000, I am not a Jew or Christian but I don't agree what you have quoted above. Mariam was a virgin and Jesus (pbuh) was a son of Mariam. His birth was a miracle from the God/ Allah.

It seams to have alot in common. But I am left with why would they write about someone that did not matter. Unless it was just to warn people of following any silly thing they are told.
