I'm going for a Hollywood on Friday, what exactly is the correct etiquette for this?
Knickers, no knickers?
Big knickers, tiny tanga?
Help please, as I don't want to embaress myself or the beautician!!

Wear a loose skirt if possible, it will ouch and your want some air.
Take an Advil or something before, it will help ya. Don't drink booze- that may encourage bleeding. The best time is one week after you period, since that's the least sensitive time for your skin
Bring a clean Thong. Or wear nothing, they will lay a towel over your bits and pieces Remove all piercings. Be very clean, baby wipe in the bathroom to freshen up before hand.
I have had folks mark with a pen prior to the job, to show me wear to pull since its hard to show that body part with out a mirror and 10 minutes of discussion.
Their are several different "wax jobs". SO be prepared with cash as well. Always assume wax higher Vs. lower on the leg or public area.
You may want to get your navel waxed and lower the waistline hair as well for bikini wearing, trim long hair to 1" to 1/2 inch in length, it catches faster.
Use heavy conditioner on your public hair the night before and wash it off with liquid soap. It will soften it and make it flexible and easier to catch in wax. Faster & Cleaner pull.
If you want the "cat cleaned" or "Brazilian" that is no hair on your entire pubic area, on the lips and around your anus. [seriously OUCH] Plan to tip them an extra $20 for that job. Its common to get extra services in the backroom, but you must pay for them upfront and tip well in back.
Ask for ingrown hair suggestions when it is growing back. If they don't hurt ya- TIP them good and ask for them again.
I always put ice and cocoa butter on mine. I get it done, every three months or so. My hair is blond naturally, so its not really an issue. Use good wax and a great waxer. Its all the differance.
Tip them well, if they are good at managing the pain and get all the hair. If the Tipping thing wasn't obvious enough, be sure to have the $5 or $10 in eyeshot while the job is being done.
Sad but true, sometimes the pain is based on the potential to tip. Rude reality that most folks never know.

However, let's just ignore them for a while...
It really depends on what you are going to do in Hollywood. And how hairy you are, of course. Western culture is currently obsessed with hair removal!! It depends on your personal views - don't be too influenced by what others say to you. Do what feels right for you.
My advice is, go for a traditional wax, and compromise on the knickers. Neither too big or too tanga, but what feels comfortable.
You can always have a more radical wax and go for the tiny tanga once you are there, if that beautiful Hollywood sunshine loosens your inhibitions!!

you will be asked to take them off whatever style you wear
choose something cotton not synthetic as you may be a bit "warm" down there afterwards
