The above song was written by Bob Geldof and performed by his band The Boomtown Rats. The song is about a 15 year-old girl who shot people at her school - which was opposite her house - using a rifle her parents bought her for her birthday (yes, really!). About four died and others were wounded. This outraged outraged America at the time (i.e. the song, not the killings), and the young killer's explanation for her actions was: 'I don't like Mondays'. Hence the song title.
Here in the UK, killers typically get released after about 12 years, as long as they promise not to do it again. I believe you have a similar system in the USA. All of the above happened quite a long time ago, so if the lady in question is still locked up, she will be long overdue her parole. I heard the song on the radio yesterday, which prompts my question: Is this lady still in prison?
