No. The center of the earth is like molten lava.

We'd build an elevator to the moon first. Theoretically, both are possible, but I don't expect either in our lifetimes. I think it will be while before anyone makes a serious attempt at either, but some centuries after the moon elevators are working, maybe someone will attempt the hole thru the earth. It would be fun since it would propel itself. You would simply drop a rock on one side and it would be pulled by gravity toward the center, shoot past and nearly to the other side. If left alone without friction, it could go back and forth for a while, before settling in the middle. Of course, if you were to use it for transportation, you'd add a little rocket and pop out the other side. Whatever you're transporting will need to withstand high temperatures, so people and chocolate are probably out until you can build a giant airconditioning plant to go along for the ride. Not sure what you could transport to be worth doing from an economic view. It would be just a technological feat and an accomplishment similar to the moon landing. At least the elevator to the moon could transport supplies to the moon base.

I suppose, but there is a problem.
Parts of the inside of the earth are liquid, so if you drilled a hole, it wouldn't stay "drilled". You would have to make a well casing that could freeze some of the rock .
Also, the earth is expanding, so drilling it is not easy for other reasons. You could try. It would be cool!

Nope the core of the earth is too hot and will melt whatever you try to drill it with long before you even get near to the other side.. Plus do you think we have that much fuel to do that kind of large job left on the earth?

Not with current technology as the layer of magma would be too hot for any known substance to survive. Plus, since the Iron center of the planet is also molten and moving, no hold could esixt there at all. Add to that the fact that any hole going deep enough would become a vent for magma to escape (sort of like a volcano) the answer would have to be no.

You have an 8000 mile long drill bit that will withstand molten lava?
When you get the wellcasing that won't melt in the molten lava, let me know...I want to build a space ship out of whatever you invented...

no way in hell.... even if the inner earth wasnt a fiery pit of ...uhhh fire there would be no way in hell to get a drill that big set up....do you have any idea how impossible it would be to set up a support for that...

no. the hole would have to be huge so you could shore it up so it wouldnt collapse on itself. and i dont think you would want to run thru the lava.
