A carton? In (continental) Europe I was used to carrying crates of beer home, with 16 half-litre bottles or 24 33 centiliter bottles - usually a crate in either hand. I've calculated they're roughly ten kilo's each and though I am not a macho man, I've never stopped to think how much a measly carton of beer cans or a sixpack would weigh.
