Yes, every XLS file in the My Documents folder will be preserved when you un-install office. I still recommend you make a backup first.

well friend no need to uninstall older version .. just install the new version and all files will be updated automatically ..and yeah your previous excel and office work will not be deleted but for just precaution copy them on some cd or floppy...

back up your documents in a save place like my documents or on the desktop then install MSoffice.

If you're not backing up your files, start before you do an upgrade like that.
USUALLY things go well & no files are lost.
But I have seen some real messes.

YEA YOU CAN DO IT..... U DON'T DELETE THE XL FILES... JUST UN-INSTALL AND REINSTALL THE NEW VERSION
