Yep, I think you're right. Is it really such a terrible thing to believe in a God who "gasp!", wants us to help other people? Is people being nice to each other the worst that could happen? Gee, I'd really hate to live in a world without violence and hatred. Lord, man, wars might stop! Crime might disappear! Atheists would't have anything to deny! Disputes would get solved! Look people- all religions have their faults and weaknesses, but they all teach us to be good to fellow man, right? Where is the harm in doing good? Why is choosing the right path seen as a negative?

Amen to that, brother.
Honestly, I don't think he cares where we worship, or if we worship, or what books we hold sacred, or if we pray, or if we follow a spiritual path, or if we don't believe, or any of a hundred other things. I think the one thing he really wants for us is to be good to each other, and to help each other through this journey, and to make it as good an experience for our fellow humans as we possibly can. Everything else is just details, I think.

Well if there is one, then YEAH I totally agree with you. Of course you realize that will never happen as long as we all look down on each other for not believing the SAME exact way.

The number one thing god wants from us is said by god himself. Your answer is the second. The answer is " Matthew 22 vs 37-40. vs 37" Jesus said unto him, thou shall love the Lord thy God with all thy heart and with all thy soul and with all thy mind.
vs 38 This is the first and great commandment.
vs 39 and the second is like unto it, thou shall love thy neighbor as thy self.
vs 40 On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.
