Yes it is possible to home school at 7Th grade level. Every state has its own law so check your state with www.hslda.org. Next pick a curriculum. I really like SOS (Switched On Schoolhouse) by Alpha Omega (www.AOP.com). SOS is a subject based program on CD-Rom. Cost for 5 core subjects is about $300 a year. They also offer an academy, with teachers on line, that offers a graduation for the seniors with a high school diploma. Cost of the academy is about $1100 per year. There are many choices of curriculum. A few are: ABecka, Son Light, PACE, School of Tomorrow, Bob Jones and by Alpha Omega there is Lifepac, Switched on Schoolhouse, and Horizon to name a few.
Some states also offer on line school but I do not know info on this. Have a good time. Enjoy!

Homeschooling sounds like a perfect idea for your daughter. There are many options depending on what state you are in. I was homeschooled part of my senior year because of illness and wish that I would have been able to have done all my years this way. My homeschooling was thru the school district and I had a teacher that came to my house 1x a week. I was so far ahead in my studies that by the time i was able to go back I was so far ahead it was pointless so my teacher had me in college level books. I am now homeschooling my daughter and we are loving it. It is more effort for the parents but soooo worth it.
www.hslda.org is the homeschool legal defense organization.
Also you can just google your area and homeschool and find a local group in your area. Homeschooling families are more than happy to help you get on your way

Gosh, whatcha waitin' for?! ;-) Those sound like good reasons to at least have a sanity break from school!
If you get involved in local homeschool group(s) or community classes/activities (4-H, volunteer work, dance, art, music, sports, youth group, etc), she's much less likely to be harrassed; the skills will build her esteem and give her a social outlet.
Academically, there's many ways to do it, from buying "school in a box" from 1 company (you can even pay people to grade and give transcripts) to piecing your own curriculum together (it's not as hard as it sounds!), to unit studies (1 topic at a time for all subjects) or even unschooling (that's best for self-starters though). Look around and see what might work for you and your DD, and see your state's homeschool requirements.
I'd be happy to PM about it if you like. I've been homeschooling for 8 years and love it.
GOOD LUCK! :-)

I'm 26 and I was home-schooled in 7th and 8th grade. When my mom finally returned me to public high school I found that I was ahead of my peers in most subjects. My mom didn't homeschool me. Mom had a friend who had a teenage daughter the same age as me who was a certified teacher. We did the Christian PACE program together, along with her older brother.. I simply learned better on my own, without the constant distraction of boys and cute outfits, etc. I remember when I found out I was going to be homeschooled, I was SO mad! But glad in the end... It paid off! Middle school years can be so difficult.

It's definitely possible. I know at least one person who started homeschooling in 7th grade.
Homeschooling sounds ideal for your daughter. Check with local homeschooling groups about how homeschooling works where you live, do whatever legal things you need to do, talk with other homeschoolers where you live about how they homeschool their gr. 7 children, and step by step, get the ball rolling.
You don't necessarily need to contact your local school board. In some places it's actually a bad idea to do so. See what the law is first.

Sure - I'm homeschooling my 6th grader now and plan to keep going all the way through high school.
If you need help getting started, I'd look for a co-op or support group in your area where you can find a mentor to walk with you through the first year - it's the most difficult.

It is possible. The questions you should be asking:
Am I able to homeschool?(do I work to much, will I have the time)
Do I want to homeschool?
Will it work with your family?
you have the right to make the choice to homeschool or not. Weigh out the pros and cons. And understand that it will not always be easy.(for you or your daughter) But if you want and feel it is the best choice for you and your family go for it
I homeschool my 3 kids and it works for my family.
but it is a major comitment.
there are many benifits to homeschooling.

Definately, there are all kinds of programs available. Will you be home to work with your daughter and take her to things or will you be at work all day? Even if a 7th grader had a wonderful correspondence school they still need to be supervised to some extent--or they think up creative things to do!

I don't see why not. If it's due to a medical problem, I think that would help her. I normally don't like the idea of home schooling myself, but I think it's a great idea if it's because of something like this. Hope things get better for her.
