Why do these illegal Mexican immigrats assume they can automatically become Americans?

I'm not talking about the migrant fruit pickers who come and go seasonally.

I'm talking about these self righteous pri.cks who stay. Then they start bitching about schools, voting, citizenship, etc. All of this after committing a crime.

They don't pay taxes, yet they sttend public schools, subsidized by taxpayers.

They go to the ER and recieve free treatment. I go to the ER and get reamed.

They drive on roads I pay taxes for.

They are protected by police I pay for.

They don't pay income taxes, like I do, and send their proceeds out of the country.

The list goes on and on and unfortunately guess who pays for it all? I DO.

Who says they're not on welfare?

Jesus S- you are here legally, this does not apply to you. Your family did it the legal way. You see, here in America we have what are called LAWS. When you do something that is against the law it is illegal. When you do something illegal you are a criminal.

Yes, I see many of you "get it". It has nothing to do with us not wanting Mexicans. I love Mexico, the people and their culture is fascinating.

The issue at hand is the entitlement and the illegality of their actions. Crossing a border does not make one a citizen. Neither does singing the Star Spangled Banner in Spanish (made me nauseous).

You must live in Oregon. There the law enforcement does not cooperate with the Border Patrol . No Border patrol. That is a laugh. In order to stop all that illegal traffic coming across the border they would have to build a Berlin Wall and let the marines manning the wall shoot anything that moves.

Now you try and go to Mexico and do the same. You would end up dead. Plus The Mexican government allows no one to become a citizen unless you were born there. Free medical care is a laugh, especially for "estrageros". The Mexican law says no foreign person may take a job that a mexican can do.

I actually agree with you whole heartedly! Those are nice points by the way. People tend to not take things like that into consideration.

So to answer your question...they think they can automatically become American because, well, sadly enough, THEY CAN!! The people that will respond negatively to your point of view on this topic are the idiotic ones who WILL ALLOW illegal Mexicans to "BECOME AMERICAN." And even if they don't allow it, it doesn't matter because they are the same ones that are prohibiting us from resolving the issue of illegal immigration anyway. So if their not "legit" Americans, it will make no difference. They already have it better than us anyway, why fix something (from the Mexican's point of view) that isn't broken?? They can be American just like us, just not legitimately.

If ever I've heard a good idea, it was the one where all the Mexicans decided to come to America. They come here because their country is crappy. But what will our country turn into after being swarmed by them?? Oooh how neat we can have a big Mexico and a little Mexico!

Mexican are not the only people that are here illegally. And the welfare part of this is....go to the welfare office you would see that there are more mexican there then any other race.
If our government decide to give then Amnesty then I will fight to have all prisoner release from prisons and jails. Because it's not right at all if any or all illegal can break the law and get rewarded for it. All illegal breaks the Law

Basically that's what some activists have been telling them.

If I were living in a third world country next door to a country like ours, and wanted to raise my children in a better place I would be tempted to try to immigrate myself--legally if I could, and illegally if necessary.

It isn't the immigrants you should be mad at, it's the political activists who are trying to capitalize on their plight and are teaching them to come into this country and be protected.

I am all in favor of legal and proper immigration. My grandparents--all four of them--were foreign born and came to this country as immigrants from Eastern Europe or Germany.

I would allow Mexican immigrants the exact same opportunity my grandparents had, but would expect them to do all the same things my grandparents did to become citizens and to love this country.

My grandparents didn't have welfare or free ERs or any of that stuff. They worked their butts off and were the proudest Americans I have known.

I think it's not fair to the Mexican people that as soon as we hear the word "illegal", we think of Mexicans. The majority of the answers assume that illegals are only, Mexicans. That's not the case. One other thing, I read and answer that stated that if you tried to become a citizen of Mexico you couldn't, because you practically have to be born there. That's not true, you can become a citizen, the same ways you can become a citizen here in the US. The only difference is that a naturalized citizen cant be voted into office.

There are no borders in this world. This world is one. Why don't your imperialist America stop selling its pepsi and coke and missiles etc. to the other countries? Is it not illegal? Is not your great country robbing the world's nations? Stop crying selfishly about some poor Mexicans, whose labours are exploited by your American owners day and night. Everybody becomes legal eventually, the humanitarian laws are there to care of them. The whole of U.S.A.'s economy is build by immigrants who came legally or illegally but eventually became part and parcel of the society. Don't be so impatient......Humans first and laws next. I agree with you. However, the illegal immigrants in this country have been given amnesty several times in the past 50 years and so they figure it will happen again, if they just wait long enough. Difference is, this time they are much more vocal and demanding of it, which is very repulsive to most American citizens, myself included.

I know it sucks! The rest of the foreigners from other countries have to follow the immigration laws and wait for many years for citizenship. They also have to learn English! These illegal Mexicans are a great burden on our economy and they are such pricks! They expect us to speak Spanish and teach them in Spanish! This is a English speaking country Da! Because our border patrol sucks, and so do some of the people working the border patrol, because they make such little money, a handful of these border patrol workers get paid off and let these illegals right in.

Because we have not taken a firm stand on the subject of illegal immigration. The more we hesitate, the more they take advantage of us. We should stop them at the border comes hell or high water. We should then clean them out of our cities and farms. Who is paying dearly for this folly of the US government? We are!!!!!!
