I went to my first day of high school today (in canada it's grade 10) and it's a school none of my friends went too. I don't know anyone there and I feel like such a loner. I know it's gonna get better but should I just transfer to a school with all my friends? But the reason that I'm going to the school I'm going to is because technically it's a better school but I miss my friends and hate being a loner.

Just take it one day at a time, and make yourself available for people to talk to you...

Don't close yourself off in a corner... Ask someon if they can show you where the ...... is...

At lunch, ask if you can sit at someone's table...

And, remember, if it's really as bad as you say it is, in about a month, you COULD transfer, if you really wanted...

Just give it time...

As for eating with people. If you aren't too shy you could try talking to someone during class (if possible) before lunch and when the class ends, ask what they are doing for lunch. If they say nothing really or just sitting with friends, ask if it would be alright if you sat with them.

Well, school is where you meet new friends and add them to your "all my friends list", but if you miss your friends, well you could communicate with them through phone, and maybe you could plan some place where you could meet.
