Officially, Mopar = Motor Parts.
The replacement and performance parts division of Chrysler-Dodge-Jeep.

Where you can find the Elephant motor and parts.
(the real Hemi, as in 426), as well as other Chrysler crate engines.

In the late 1960's and early '70s, the parts unit was called the Direct Connection.

Informally, Mopar also refers to any Chrysler, Dodge, Plymouth and Jeep vehicle.

Ford used to have Autolite parts, and GM had AC Delco parts units. Autolite eventually became Visteon Corp, while AC Delco became Delphi Corp.
