Because it's always easier to generalize than to take time and think. The jihadists ruined normal life for Islamists worldwide. Just as black/hispanic felons have ruined the reputation of good black/hispanic Americans.

There are wacky people among all communities, religions, nations, races. What is termed a terrorist act by one set of people could be a heroic act by another, for example - The Boston tea party, or Guy Fawkes Day.
The recently killed Baluchi leader Bugti was a terrorist as far as the Pakistani's are concerned, while the Baluchis claim that he is a martyr.
The west with better technology in communications has been able to create a jingoistic feeling towards anybody that is different from them. Does any normal person from the west ever bother to see a television program from these countries? No you see the narration of events as broadcast by your own channels, their view point, which is that Muslims are bad.
No religion is bad, it is only the misuser's of religions and beliefs', the bible thumpers (I see one here) who spoil the name of any religion for increasing their own popularity, maybe gaining wealth , for a personal advantage. show me one promoter of any religion, lets say Christianity who has never run down any other religion - It is people like that who spread the hatred for those who are different from them.

Because what is shown by the media and what we see in reality, for example,terrorism, celebrations when they do harm to their target people/country, the threats to Americans, Israelis, Jews, all those things don't exactly put Muslims in good light.
The Hezbollah/Al Quaida, all claim that what they are doing is for the name of Alla and Islam. All the suicide bombers in Israel claim the same thing! So how is the rest of the world supposed to feel about Muslims? "the wacky ones" as you call them have done a lot of damage to civilians/innocent humans all over the world, they are not minute or minority.

You must be a sheltered innocent fool. Read you history on how Islam was spread. Have you heard any Muslim groups speak against the violent acts perpetrated around the world by Islamic terrorists? Just because you are Muslim does not mean you are safe from terrorism. They will kill you too if you just happen to be in the target crowd.

Their book is 600 years old written by a man. That doesn't sound like a saviour to me. Muslims are typically hostile, namely the women because they are defending their men. It's the common situation of stabbing you in the back. They will never be peaceful; how can you expect them to be? They kill eachother. How do you get that the majority are good? Have you visited that territory recently? Better yet, would you prefer to be a muslim woman in that place, right now, saying what you are saying?

i come from a country of mixed culture and where people love and respect each other inspite of their cultural and religious differences. and i dont live in America.
well its all the fault of MEDIA: they brain wash one side of the world against the middle east and the SAME MEDIA brain washes the middle east against the west. people of both sides tend to follow the media but do not go a couple of steps to get to know the thruth.
actually islam came for the whole of mankind , but Allah says if they want to follow let them . if they reject Islam, let them, but u dont kill in my name. Allah only allows self-defense not killing.
Islam is a very nice religion but it hurts me to see some people like the suicide bombers -- tainting the name of Allah, Islam and Allah's Messengers. they are giving us a bad name. and so are all the corrupted mullahs and politicians.

finally!! someone who can say something nice a bout this issue. you are right, they are nice people. i am american, i have friends of all religions and muslims are probably the most peaceful and kindest people of religion i know. if some people would just be a little more open minded and get to know them on a personal basis, they would see what we see. thank you sweetie

A Muslim that does not participate in Jihad is considered apostate.
Muslims don't have to strap on a bomb to support Jihad.
They can give money, material, or moral support.
