If your going to be babysitting on a consistant basis where you know that the children with be in your care each week, you should probably charge a daily rate instead of an hourly rate. I would charge 12-15 dollars a day. Most daycares in my area charge this amount for kids 3 and under. As the child gets older, the prices drop.

I pay someone $20 a day to watch my 2 year old, at their house, for about 8 1/2 hours. I provide most of the food. A daycare around here charges $4.75 an hour (up to 5 hrs) or $32 a day. All food and snacks provided.

That depends on what the babysitter is gonna have to do. If it's the basics, like changing diapers, playing, reading, the charge would be cheaper. If you expect the babysitter to fix meals or take her places like the park, or for walks and stuff. I would say you need to pay more. My daughter is in the toddler class at her preschool, and they charge $98 for 3 days a week and she is only there from 8 AM til 1:30PM, and the fee includes breakfast, lunch, and a snack. I would say don't pay her any less than $50-$60 a week. If you pay any more than that you might as well take her to daycare. Hope this helps.

I babysit so I can be home with my son. I charge $8 an hour. $10 if 2 siblings. I provide food and snacks to the children, so I don't think it is too much to ask for $8 an hour per child. You are using extra food, and other resourses in your home so I think it is a fair price, especially since I am giving them a discount on a 2nd child

It depends on a lot of things!

Like -- do you have CPR/First Aid or Red Cross certification? Do you have lots of experience with toddlers? Are there any other kids around?

Where do you live? Obviously there is a big difference between costs in New York City and Omaha! Will the child be napping? do you have your own transporation?

I think you should stay with an hourly rate instead of a weekly rate.

Between $6 and $10.

it depends really. I do childcare so I can stay home with my sons. I charge 4/hr or $120 a week for 30-40 hours. But if I was just doing if for a few hours I would charge $6/hr for one and $8/hr for siblings. If they are coming to your house you really shouldnt charge more then $6-8 and hour.

Wow I saw the other answers and they seem really high! I was a daycare provider in PHX and going rate was 80.00 -100.00 a week full time per child, I used to charge a flat rate of 20.00 per day part time up to hours, after that 5.00 an hour, Sat-Sun was 30.00 a day for my pesonal time usage. Good luck whatever you deciede!

150.00 a week believe me the daycares charge more and she should supply food for the child if you dont feel comfortable asking her to do that just factor another 20.00 dollars in a week.
