This is what I've never understood. If you have faith, why question? Isn't your faith strong enough that you would know that your god has done what was best?

Start from the other side: if you are questioning something, you assume that it does exists. So if you question God, you believe in God. Faith is believing in something you can't see or prove. Whether is strong or weak, is another point.
When Nietsche said "God has died" he was assuming that God, in some time existed. He can't prove if God existed, then he can't prove that God died...
And questioning it's not so bad because makes you to think about your Faith, think in God and it can lead you to understand that we can't change what God wants for us, but to accept that will always made his will. So that gives you peace and you stop questioning. God made us so free to question him.
So, questioning him, is also his will.

We are also told to be of a discerning mind. My interpretation of God is filtered through a sinning heart, how do I really know that I was doing what God wanted or told me? I was placed here to do his works, but through my fallen nature, I can never be 100% sure that I was doing it the right way. We are not perfect, no one is, so we have to sort through the information we recieve and decide whether it is really what God is wanting, or if it is from some other motivation.

A brainless follower is not what God wants, or what Jesus died for. We were given intelligence so we can ask questions, and through that, find the truth. Why do you think Jesus was called "teacher"?

I think when they mention faith, it is not about God picking us up and placing us out of the worldly problems, but the big picture, that no matter what happens, we can rely on the everlasting God that is the same today, yesterday and forever, and that his love, patience and understanding is never ending.

I don't question what God does, I question the reasons why, after everything that I have done to cause him pain and heartache, God doesn't leave me, even when I want him to. I question those around me that give me well meaning advice in a hurtful way, I question my ability to live up to the fantastic life the Lord has set out for me. I question why he would bother, when I deserve to be thrown away, he picks me up, dusts me off and says, "Nah, you're not broken, just a little dinged up, still perfect though, keep going, you'll be fine".

I don't know if I answered your question or not, but this is my take on it.

All the best :)

just because you have faith in God does not mean you instantly understand everything about Him. He understands we have questions. Some of my questions will probably will not be answered until I get to the other side. Such as why did my friend's father and brother die in a tornado during a church service? Maybe their mission on earth was over and God brought them home. I have lots of questions but God has all the answers. I believe that.

Dear Sweetest Sin,

God's word is clear that God's ways are not our ways. i think this is a lesson that people are constantly learning. There are times when things in life are hard for us to understand and God does not mean for us to always have to understand everything. There are times we can trust without having to understand everything. It's like when you tell your kids something and they stand there and question and question. Some people approach their faith like that- they have to understand everything before they obey. And they paint an extreme picture that those who have faith blindly believe everything. Just like kids know their parents are good and have the best in mind for them- we should be able to trust our Heavenly Father without always having to question- but it does happen...

That is true trust being able to trust God though we dont' always understand everything perfectly. I trust that God is good and He is able to make good come out of the most dismal circumstances.

hope that helps,

Nick

As a pagan, i have different views on religion. I question nearly everything. but i do not believe that the gods are perfect. i have faith in them and i resepect their knowledge, but as a mortal my mind will still question the reasons for many things that happen.
these are things that i meditate on and sometimes i gain some insight that helps me understand how the world worls.

You should always be questioning. Faith is like a journey and you can change your views from time to time. Any church that tells you not to ask questions does so because they don't really know what they are talking about and they don't want to have to answer you.

Yes, I have come to that place in my life that I know whatever happens is part of His plan for me, but I have also started the practice of alwas asking Him to do what His will is in my life. Right now, I am up for a couple of jobs. I am praying that God will put me where He wants me. I don't question Him. I do try to find reasons why --or ask "what is it I am learning or gaining from this?" and then I try to apply it to my life.
I don't have to be worried over this job, I trust He knows best and it's in His hands.

I am positive, that God's plan is perfect........ the strenght of faith becomes apparent in time........... I have seen what God has done. Most specifically in my own Life. No one can change that..
I lived a lie before,,,,,,,,,,, Now I live in the truth of God's magnificent presence.
