Start menu>search. When that comes up, click all files and folders. Click advanced options and make sure look for hidden files and folders is checked and that search in subfolders and check system folders is checked. type "normal.dot" into the search bar and click search. It might take a while, but if it's there that will find it.

DO NOT DELETE IT!!!!! This is your master document.
This normal.dot is the master document that hold all the setting of what all your document look like now.

To play it safe Here what you should do:

1: Close word program and any document you have open.

2: brows to
C:\Documents and Settings\\Application Data\Microsoft\Templates

Please note that you have to Replace in the above path to what ever your account name is in Windows XP (Assuming you are using XP). You can also find this out by simply clicking on start button and see the LOG OFF That is your account name.

3: Right click on the Normal.dot and then click on RENAME

4: Change name to OldNormal.dot

5: Now, Restart WORD and open your documents... of they are all looking OK, you are done!

6: If all your documents look strange now... DO NOT PANIC!

7: Exit WORD Program and close all the open documents.

7: Brows to the above path again and rename the new NORMAL.DOT to 1NORMAL.DOT then rename your previous OldNormal.dot back to normal.dot. Your original normal.dot is back on it.

8: You may open the normal.dot and change it then save it. Remember that all your documents will change too.

9: If this sounds too hard. Check the blow links,

10: If this still is too hard, You may have to pay some body to do it for you.

Best of luck to you my friend.
