My grandmother, who spent alot of time in the kitchen, would put raw egg on burns. She said it helped cool the burn, act like a temporary skin covering when it dried and nourish the skin in the process. I don't know if all of that was true but....she made it sound so good........and it did help my brother when he burned his face with steam and hot water. NO SCARS. YAY! for GRANDMA!!

My grandmother had a few, but I don't remember many:
Break off a peach tree twig and cut a notch in it for each wart you have, then bury it under the eave of the house. When it's finished decomposing, your warts will be gone.
There was one about cutting an apple in half and rubbing it on something to make it go away, then putting the apple back together, but I can't remember what it was for.

i'm not sure if it's a wives tale or what, but this old lady who used to watch my kids for me believed that garlic could cure anything. So far i have found a few good uses for it. I use warm garlic oil for ear aches, i use garlic oil on my dogs for mites, If i take a garlic tablet a day it keeps my husband away....hahaha
Oh...i thought of another.....
when I was little and had either a bad splinter or tiny piece of glass in my foot or something, my mother would use a bread and milk poltice. this consisted of a soggy piece of bread soaked in milk. You would then put that over whatever was stuck in your skin and sleep with it on there, and in the morning the poltice would draw out what was in your skin. it really works, not kidding

I heard of rolling a had boiled egg over a bump on your head...you know, those bumps you get when you like hit your head on something by accident. My mom did that to me when I was a lot younger.
Also for some reason, whenever I'm sick or have a rash or some kind of ailment, my mom tells me not to eat seafood...I have no idea why...plus I don't even like seafood...
