Depends on what kind of sandwich you're making.
For the usual ham/chs. or turkey etc. you need a butter knife, a bread cutting knife & cutting board.
For a grilled cheese sand. the above products & a frying pan.
For a Toasted BLT./ A TST./Club add a toaster to the roster & you're all set.
If you have a Sand. Grill maker you can use that to make any grilled sandwich you desire. {Gr,/Chs. etc.)
Another great sandwich to make is a toasted bagel with cream cheese & whatever else you like, such as lettuce which you can also add too all the above sandwiches.Personally I like my bagel sand. with cr./chs. lettuce & a slice of tomato.{ GREAT SAND.}
Enjoy your sandwich, whatever you decide to make.****

MANY MANY Possibilities - I have used a butcher's type knife for exact cuts for presentation. I have used a circle egg ring to make perfect [okay almost perfect] round eggs for different sandwiches such as a traditional Bacon Lettuce Tomato Sandwich. I admit for me I left off the Tomato and added Swiss Cheese. But the whole sandwich was round and looked pretty neat. I have used a Forman type indoor grill to flatten slightly and toast some roast beef sandwiches. Of course a butter knife, spoon and I cut off the crust for my kids and fancy up the edges with a fork, pressing down like on a pie edge. I probably would not try this but I discovered the other day that my ford pickup did a nice toaster job on a ham sandwich and a pop tart. I tossed the sandwich but now Carry plenty of pop tarts to get nice and toasty for a quick pick me up! [pickup, no pun intended] Good luck. PS If you live up north avoid the truck idea in the winter months.

Cold chicken, a fruit tray, a cheese ball and crackers. Thinly spread slices of black forest ham with softened cream cheese and roll up around cold steamed asparagus spears. Cut in half. Best if made the night before. Veggie platter with dip. A huge tossed salad with sliced strawberries, candied pecans and crumbled blue cheese. Hope these ideas help and I hope you enjoy the picnic.
