What does 'hanasanai' mean? I've seen it written and heard it in songs, but I can't seem to find the translation anywhere. Can someone help me?

ok. you've all been very helpful. now how about if you said 'hanasanai' to someone that you were completely in love with. and they had said 'aishiteru' to you. what would it mean, specifically, then?

It means "don't speak" or "don't talk". It can also be "don't let go" or "don't separate", depending on the kanji. It is the verb "hanasu" + negative form (nai).
