WOW ...That is quite a dilemma.....I can see how it could happen but what I don't understand is why you did all the paperwork & left with only the one set of keys & NOT the vehicle.
Had you left with the vehicle, they would be calling the 'other buyer' instead of you.
If you did not take possesion of the vehicle, you don't own it.
What to do now ? Well just let them find another one like it for you. If they are unwilling to do this, then the chances are that your loan was never really approved & thats why they didn't let you take posession.
I would definatly like to know the outcome of this one ! Will you e-mail me please ?
btw- when you did all the paperwork...did you sign the title (aka MCO) ? Just wondering how they're gonna handle that quagmier ?

If you have not taken delivery of the vehicle, you should be able to get your money back, or get a different vehicle. What most likely happened is two salespeople were working with customers who both chose the same car. It happens in busy dealerships sometimes.
If you are not comfortable with a different vehicle, and you have not taken delivery of a car yet, you have the absolute right to your full deposit back! Give them back the keys and get your money back!!
If you do decide to buy a different vehicle from that dealership, be sure that you get as good or better a price than you did before. The dealer messed up, and they should not profit from their error.

You didn't do anything wrong, so don't worry about it. The salesperson (imagine that!) is the one who goofed up.
You should be fine, as long as the other person has not signed any of the papers needed to show proof of purchase.
The Dealership will have to deal with the other customer and try to appease them, or lose them as possible customers.
Or maybe they were playing you to get you to buy the car tonight...and there really was no other customer for the car.
Either way, I would not go back to that dealership

Who got the title? How far had the paperwork gone? Did the other people sign papers before you? If you got the title then the car is yours. If they got the title then you may just have a fraud situation on your hands and the dealership that sold you the car has to cough up another one. And quick. Your $2000.00 could be drawing them interest in an interest bearing account...and you are losing out on what interest you could be earning. Who has physical possession of the vehicle?

well the question is.. who's name is on the paperwork? the dealer obviously screwed up, simply get a different matrix and ask for a better deal for your troubles.
If you keep the keys, they will find out eventually, and it could be considered stealing because the car is NOT registered to you.
Or ask for the down payment back and goto a different dealer. but I'm sure this one will bend over backwards for you now.

Did you sign a title? if so the car is your. Did you finance? If so your bank should be able to handle it for you. If not Im sure you have a reciept if they cannot provide you with another 07 Matrix in a timely manner they will have to refund your money, when they do so take your business elsewhere. They sound like a shady outfit

Take the keys back, get your money back, and go somewhere else.....do not buy a different car from these people as they can obviously not keep good records

i think they should give the same kind of car for the same price. if it was sold why did they give you the key and not the other people. or they can let you have and give the other people a diffrent car you done have the keys
