Fastweb.com specificly asks for information relating to parents in the military - this service is free.

You can get a copy of your father's military discharge from the US Air Force. Here is the information:

"The National Personnel Records Center is now accepting request for records On-Line. This is an alternative method to the standard Form 180 to request for example a copy of your DD-214. You may now access the new web-based application from NPRC at the following Web Site Address: http://vetrecs.archives.gov/ "

And, you can just call the local USAF recruiter or reserve and ask them if they have a better way to do it - sometimes these local guys are a wealth of information and really do wan to help you.

BTW, I enlisted and after my 3 years went thru college and law school on the GI Bill - pretty good deal

Yes, you can apply for a veterans scholarship. Google it on the web and you'll find a whole variety of information. You can also obtain his military records honey. Just fine out where he served and contact that unit.

Go to the nearest Veterans' Affairs office near you and inquire about dependents' benefit entitlements. There are (unless you were not declared by your father as a dependent).

Youneed to go to your local public library. There are reference books available that tell about all of the scholarships and grants and what is required to be eligible for them. Your college will also be able to tell you about the Pell grant that you don't have to pay back.
