Everytime I eat a fresh pineapple I get this bad allergic reaction to it. It stinks in my mouth and throat and gives me some type of rash inside my mouth. I love pineapple, but this makes it really hard for me to eat it. Is there anything I can do to neutralize it or something like that? Does anyone else have the same problem with eating pineapples? tks

Try canned pineapple. It is cooked in the can, which breaks down the enzyme that most people are allergic to (it changes the flavor silghtly, too).

Try roasting it! Take a whole pineapple, cut off the top and bottom, cut it in half, place it in a baking dish and cover with foil. bake it at 300 degrees for about 45 minutes. It will make the sugars sweeter making the acids less intense. It gives it a great flavor!

I've had it a few times. Try the tinned stuff it's more user friendly. Or eat toothpaste, it neutralizes acid.
