Also, when you need to go to the bathroom and you finally go (bowel movement) does that make you lose a couple pounds?
does losing that and water weight mean you will not get smaller?

After you lose the first few quick pounds that means you are finally losing fat right? eventually after dieting you have to be getting slimmer due to less calaries etc

Have your bodyfat tested. You can get skin calipers for about $10 that will give you a decent estimate.
For example, if you're 200 lbs and 10% bodyfat, then lose 20lbs.
Now you're at 8% bodyfat.
You used to be 200 lbs x 10% = 20 lbs of fat
Now you're 180 lbs x 8% = 14.4 lbs of fat
You lost about 6 lbs of fat, and 14 lbs of water weight & muscle.
If you use the correct macros & calorie levels, you'll keep the lean tissue and drop fat.

Our bodies are composed of 60-80% of water (wide range depending on age and other factors). Usually if you lose "water weight" it happens as a drastic weight loss in a small amount of time followed by a similar gain a couple hours or days later. This is usually due to excessive sweating or water loss by other means "Real fat" loss, which may or may not be fat, usually is more sustained and involves the glycolysis cycle turning a certain organic compounds into energy.

Water weight would be just de-hydration - you can SWEAT out water all day and appear to loose weight, but the fat is still there..
There are body fat percentage scales in all the stores - Wal Mart, Target, etc. for about $25 to $65 that have metal pads you stand on in bare feet. They measure electrical current through your body and will give you rough idea of your percentage of body fat. If you loose 10 pounds in 2 weeks, and the body fat goes UP, you are loosing wieght, but it could be just de-hydration, or worse, your bodies muscle or organ tissue - very bad.
If you go on a diet, get a good scale in %'s

first off, i don't think it matters where you lost it if you lost a pound,,,the only way to lose "fat cells" is to have them liposuctioned out of your body i think...the water may be inside the fat cells . just don't lose weight, excercise and walk or jog tone your body. i'm rambling with my answer, but i hope you get the idea..
