"homogenized" means that the milk is "churned up" in such a way that the cream (milkfat) does not separate and rise to the top. Virtually all milk is homogenized, although maybe skim milk is not because there is no fat that needs to be homogenized.
"Whole" milk is 5% milkfat, the original lowfat milk is 2%, and skim has no milkfat. Now, you can also buy milk that has 1% milkfat, and I have seen 1/2% milk some places.
Pasturization, which you did not ask about but other answerers have mentioned, is the process of heating the milk to kill naturally-occurring bacteria.

The percentages tell you how much fat the milk has in it. A lot of people think that homogenized is whole milk, but it's actually written on all of the milk jugs.
I argued with a store clerk one time because their ad said homogenized milk was on sale, brought up one that said 1/2% homogenized and they wouldn't give the sale price to me. I was mad...lol Oh well. But yeah, all milk is homogenized, just so you know.

All milk is homogenized. That's part of the process it goes through to kill bacteria. The percentage that's listed on the packaging is the amount of fat/cream that is left in. If you were to take a nice, long drink of whole milk (often labeled as homogenized only), then take a nice, long drink of 1%, you'd be able to tell the difference. Whole milk is actually thicker due to the higher fat/cream content to it.

The fat content. Homogenized milk can also be called whole milk. It has all the milk fat. 2% milk has half the fat. 15 milk had just enough fat for the taste but not that many calories. and Skim milk means all the fat has been skimmed and you get basically milk flavored water.

Homogenized milk skill that there is an eternal bond between the milk and the cream or that this is emulsified. in the previous homogenization, the cream and milk might separate in the bottle and you had to shake the bottle to quickly emulsify the climate. the version between the others is as follows: For a million cup of milk, entire: a hundred and fifty energy, 8g saturated fat, 5g fat, 300mg calcium 2%: one hundred twenty energy, 5g saturated fat, 3g fat, 3 hundred mg calcium a million%: a hundred energy, 2.5 g saturated fat, a million.5g fat, 3 hundred mg calcium fat loose/ skim: 80 energy, 0g saturated fat, 0g fat, 300mg calcium.

milk is always homogenized. if it just says that, then it's regular milk, wich has 3% fat
2% and 1% just mean how much of the original fat it still has
plus, the lesser the percentage, the less calcium and flavour you get

Thats a great question, because I heard the amount of fat in a glass of milk has nothing to do with the % on the carton. For instance. 2 percent could be like 25 percent fat????
