Square boxes are easier to transport and manufacture. So the real question is, why are pizzas made to be round? Although I do know pizza places that serve square pizzas.

Just think of it this way. When you make an apple pie for instance, isn't it hard to get it out of that exact sized pie tin? So now by knowing that, wouldn't it be hard to take out a pizza from a round box perfect for it's size? So therefore, I guess a square is the perfect shape for a pizza... giving you enough room to take out the pizza without messing it up. =)
