As long as they grow up together it shouldn't be a big deal.A golden retriever is a good mellow dog that gets along with everyone ,A German Shepherd is a little loud sometimes and not so mellow but if there raised together they ll be fine.Maybe get differant sex's too.

It definitely depends on each dog's socialization and temperament, but goldens are on the whole a very social, laid-back breed and shepherds with stable temperaments as well as a knowledgeable owner who knows how to train the dog, should get along really well. It would also help if the dogs were spayed/neutered.

Depends on the dog itself. Usually golden retrievers have a good temperment and are sweet and kind. They should do well together.

It's possible...I suggest you raise them together as puppies. As they get older, they won't be jealous of each other. Golden retrievers and german shephard are great family pets. German shephards tend to be a bit more protective than retrievers(I had one as a child). As long they're raised together, they should be fine.

There's nothing innately wrong with this combination. If both are puppies, then no problem, likely. If one is older and one a puppy, then if the first one is usually receptive to other dogs being around, then likely okay. If both are grown, then you'd really just have to see what they are like together.

Another factor, more b*tch fights happen than stud fights. I would definitely take the previous poster's(coconuts) advice on having the dogs different sexes - and neutered and spayed.
