Oh also Westhampton Beach, NY. I have to check these places out and see which ones we prefer. We will probably be living off-base. My husband is going in as an AF pararescueman guard or reserves. Anyone with some real life experiences in the areas..please help. Thanks

I'm from Orlando, FL (spending a lot of time in Cocoa) and my husband is from NM, just outside of Albuquerque. I'll tackle FL first. I love the area. Cocoa Beach is very nice, and very calm. That was my favorite Beach area to go to when I lived there (for 23 years). Great place for families and you have the bonuses of the beach, Disney, and other area attractions. Tons to do in FL but it's humid and HOT.
Albuquerque-despite what people say, Albuquerque is NOT full of illegal immigrants. That said, there are a number of nice places to live, especially in Rio Rancho. The road system there is great, and the base is easily accessed from the interstate, thanks to sharing runways with the Albuquerque Sunport. The weather is dry and warm to hot in the summer to dry and cool/cold in the winter. Albuquerque, in my somewhat biased opinion, is the best city in the southwest.

Your stuck between a rock and a hard place. Cubans in Florida or illegals in New Mexico.

you ought to stumble on a northern FL atlas/roadmap (can discover em at gas stations or bookstores or drugstores) and start up at your highway and detect a direction to cocoa sea coast! :) stay remote from significant roads.. use the backroads and you will no longer hit any tolls
