They aren't really punishing you even though it seems that way. They are actually trying to protect you. I know this seems odd, but this is adult logic. If this girl has poor grades your parents may be concerned that she is an irresponsible person who hangs out with the wrong crowd. They may also be concerned that she is involved with drugs and drinks, and are wondering why her parents haven't addressed their daughter's grade problems. While this girl may be very sweet and may not do any of the things I mentioned above and may, as an example, have a learning disability, their decision is based on their love and concern for their son. They want to make sure that you will concentrate on your school work and get good grades so that you can go to college and have a future. In this day and age not having a college education does not bode well for your future. If you go out with her they are worried that your grades will fall and you will get involved with the wrong group.
Eventually, and I know this sounds boring, you will come to see that what they are doing is based on love and not as a measure to hurt or punish you in any way.

The idea is to MOTIVATE this girl to do better. That's about the only way parents can deal with children who under-achieve. It isn't to punish YOU.
Why not get together and study??? That way, maybe both of you will do better in school, and you will get to go out together once her grades improve.
Plus the parents will LOVE you for that, if her grades improve because you two are studying together.

That is what your parents are trying to keep you from (doing anything) which is good, I know being a teen they just do not want you to mess up and knock some young girl up, at least finish high school, get a job so if it did happen and I hope that you would be man enough to take the responsibility should the inevatible would happen

because teens these days do not understand you all have your whole life ahead of you. If you really like this girl then you will study hard and wait until she is able to have time for you. Parents want the best for their children. well, most of them do!!!

And if she really wants to go out with you, she will do better on her grades.

The punishment is hers. Maybe a little of yours too because maybe you were a distraction. Help her bring them up and I bet you get to go out again.

You should respect the fact that her parents care for her. They are looking out for the best interest of their daughter. If you like each other that much, just wait. It will be worth it.

they have their reasons. could be that she's an underachiever, and they're afraid that this might rub off on you.
