Actually, both Mark and Luke mention that there were women who provided for Jesus' ministry out of their own resources. I don't know why people are so bothered by this idea. We also know that women like Lydia and Priscilla supported Paul's ministry and were most likely wealthy women. It wasn't until later as the church grew more structured and heirarchical that women's roles were discounted.

It is believed she, along with others, was a financial supporter of Jesus. This lends more credence to the idea that she was probably and elderly or older lady, probably a widow. It was very rare for young, single women at the time to have much disposable income.

Jesus did not have a ministry like you think. He did not tell you to pay the 10 percent of your income to the church and turn the religion to business. His message is to love each other.

Just wondering where you heard this... I read a good part of the Gospel of Mary Magdalene and don't remember reading this. It was a couple of years ago so maybe I am just forgetting. Enlighten me.... please.

Really? Did she claim him as a tax exemption? There has been some dispute as to her occupation and source of income. Any solid information on that, or did she just have a deep pocket?

Interesting, but as I read all the answers people want your source, and seem to be ruder than usual.
Hope you have a thick skin.
Hang in there.

Jesus had "bread that they knew not of." God was in Jesus all along. See the transfiguration.
