Yes, she can take both at the same time.

**** EDIT ADD IN ****

Niks mom is WRONG.

1.) they will not "kill her in her sleep". She is MOST PROBABLY taking them as prescribed, and is not DRIVING while on them.

2.) She will NOT "deficate" in her sleep. If anything, she will get constipated, as that is a side affect of vicodine.

3.) 6 hours apart?? muscle relaxant in the morning? and Vicodin at night? And you are a "medical assistant"? What??? I may be wrong here, but I think that there are more then SIX HOURS between morning and night.

DO NOT LISTEN TO THAT TWIT.

Pain meds are to control PAIN. A patient is to NOT bbe in pain. THAT is what ANY DOCTOR OR NURSE, OR REHAB THERAPIST WILL TELL YOU.

Yes, Vicodin IS a narcotic, and your friend will have a limited amount prescribed, or refilled before having to call the doctor or see the doctor again.

IF you have questions, or SHE has questions, SHE should also speak to her PHARMACIST. The pharm. can help her more then ANY "medical assistant" twit on here.

It is very common to take muscle relaxants and vicodin. One is for pain and the other is to ease the pain.

Sleepiness is normal, what is not is dizzyness when sitting or standing up, even fast and may be a sign that it is affecting the blood pressure in a negative way and could cause problems.

That wouldn't be a good idea. Not only do both make you very sleepy but ifthe dosage is enough she may not wake up. Also I know from somewhat person experience that taking both can cause you to urinate or deficate in your sleep. Which just isn't good at all. I would wait at least 6 hours between the two, like maybe the muscle relaxer in the morning and the vicodin at night.

Yes, Vicodin works on the opiod receptors in the brain; muscle relaxers do just that -- relax the muscles. No conflict there.

Yeah. And then you can take advantage of her.

Actually, there is no problem with that, but she shouldn't be driving anymore. And vicodin isn't REALLY for muscle pain. It's more for recreation if that's what she's calling it.

An NSAID would be more likely to be used for muscle pain, like advil or naprosyn.

Vicodin is also very addictive. I'm not sure about the two drugs together, but i do know that vicodin is only suppose t be taken short term.
