it all depends on the device, some devices are not designed to work with rechargables. This will give you undesirable results. read instructions with your device and that will tell you what type batteries you can use.

I think you will find that this is the voltage that rechargeable batteries work at 1.2v and the chargers to suit. I think you will find in "many" items the 1.2v rech/batteries will perform as good a task at the non rechargeable 1.5v batteries. If you have a digital camera rechargeable batteries are a must you will pay a fortune for alkaline batteries.

Rechargeable AA batteries really do not last. I've had better luck with Lithium AA batteries in my digital camera....they are expensive but they last for about 6 months. Cheaper in the long run

Depends on the application.
For high-power devices (camera or flash-light) or for clocks, I use alkaline batteries.
For low-power devices (radio/CD player) I use rechargeable. Rechargeable are not only lower power in Ah, but are lower voltage too (1.2V vs. 1.5) which really hinders some devices' operation.

rechargeable. Love them! We use them all the time. The only time I would frown on them is using something that is going constantly. This wears them out to fast. such as baby monitors, swings, etc. As far as mp3 player, wireless keyboard and mouse, things like that.. I love them.
