DO you think he accepted Christ in his heart anytime in his life?

I notice many of your answers were about what a good man he was, and that's true he was an great person but the Bible states that not by good works is anyone saved. I just hope he was, because if he wasn't he's in a place hotter than "the outback." This is also for all you out there, if you countinue living a life of sin, and not let Jesus in your life, you will parish. This is something really serious. Please let Jesus in to your heart. He's knocking and that is the emptyness in most peoples lives. Jesus said, "come to me all of you that are heavy laden, and I shall give you rest." Don't wait. I know it's hard to give up a life of sin, but like Jesus said, "what does it benefit a man if he gains the whole world, but loses he own sole?" God Bless all of you.

If you lose your own sole, you can always replace it or get a new pair of shoes - which that evangelist in Oh God should be able to sell to you.

Christians make some good points, but according to what I've learned misunderstand many things. For example, some of the things you quoted were spoken to Jews - come to me who are heavy-laden, etc. There is another place in the Bible where Joshua (Jesus) accuses the Pharisees (which he most likely was one of also, as Paul identified himself as in Acts 23) of placing heavy burdens on people and will not lift an finger to remove them (yet were so concerned about performing their priestly rituals). Chrisitans take this and such things out of their context and apply them to themselves in their situation - establishing many erroneous doctrines which they then push at others as if they came from the mouth of God.

Whether or not he accepted Christ is not the issue. The issue is that he was a nature lover, an animal lover, a good husband, and a wonderful father....

What matters is what one does in their life to make it a positive and joyful experience for all.

There are not enough GOOD MEN in this life....I think Steve fullfilled all the things that the Bible preaches!

Does it matter?????????? Steve was concerned about conservation, wild life, saving the planet, raising his family, loving his wife and being a brilliant aussie......although the fact that he was actually out there doing something to save the environment and world and able to think for himself, use reason, intellect etc kind of makes me think he wasnt spending his evenings reading the good book!

Not a clue on Jesus but he did take a stringray barb into his heart.

From all evidence he was a very nice guy. I hope folks let his family alone.

I don't think it matters. The man's family is grieving and people are speculating about the spirituality of their loved one.
He did many great things in his short life and appeared to have a deep love for his family and others.
May his name resonate and his soul find peace.

What a sad thing! He was a very cool guy. Don't know where he was with Christ but hope he knew Him.

No.

But he accepted a stingray barb into his heart.

Does it really matter? The poor man died. Leave him alone, don't question his morals, ethics and religion. Even if he didn't accept your mythological superior being into his life, does it really matter?

He's dead. The poor guy is dead.
