Star trek may be a little much for your guests. Try a costume party. That way you can dress up in trekie outfits, and your guests can come in something they like. You can dance to "time warp" or "thriller" or something trekky. (I am not really sure about the correct spelling of trecky)

thats a lot of money. Dont waste it on just one day, paying for lots of food with friends. Instead go to new zealand for the week and then go back and have a 500.00 party with all your closets friends combined with a halloween prty for startrek.

Try a wedding with you and your husband alone this time, since no one enjoyed it the first time, a small cruise, fly an airplane together with a priest there?
something daring yet romantic, parachuting perhaps?
probably not helping huh, tried.
what ever you do , i hope you both enjoy it, and happy early anniversary.

While you are getting your photos taken between the ceremony and the reception, have one or two belly dancers entertain your guests

A masquerade ball... Actually although this sounds very expensive it can be done rather cheaply if you do your homework and aren't afraid to get your hands dirty.

At this point in my life I would be happy just being married. 49 here and hating the single life.
Sorry to poop on your parade.....I'm just envious.
You two have fun no matter what you do.
